Women's Health and Action Research Centre recruits Consultants


The Women’s Health and Action Research Centre (WHARC) is a non-governmental, non-profit association whose operation is to encourage the reproductive wellbeing and social well-being of women through study, evidence-based advocacy and teaching. The organization, with nationwide head office in Benin City, Edo State was established in 1993. Since then, it has released up to 130 technical items, 2 publications, 32 monographs, 20 annual accounts, 57 reports submitted to various funding agencies and 23 newsletters that article best practices relating to the advancement of diverse aspects of women’s reproductive wellbeing. The Centre has furthermore released the African periodical of Reproductive Health since 1997 that was adjudged by the National


Universities Commission (NUC) to be the best periodical in all technical disciplines in Nigeria in 2005. Over the next five years, WHARC intends to disseminate the outcomes contained in these publications to a wide variety of policymakers and community gatekeepers, in alignment to improve evidence-based programming and policy formulation for the enhancement of women’s health and communal well-being.

Call For Expression Of Interest For A Consultancy To Summarize Wharc’s study Contributions In Sexual And Reproductive wellbeing

The Consultancy
To this end, WHARC requires the services of an experienced advisor to supply abridged content for the suggested dissemination undertakings. Some of the dissemination activities being envisaged encompass: a documentary of WHARC’s study undertakings and outcome, output of a sequence of public service announcements (PSAs), dissemination of outcomes through communal newspapers, development of policy/media briefs, and radio/TV converse displays.

The advisor would review all of WHARC’s publications and recognise the major assistance that would announce the development of the content for these dissemination undertakings. S/he will present the findings in a simplified and user-friendly manner and in a language that will resonate well with different kinds of lay-users.

The advisor should preferably be a public wellbeing researcher or programmer with experience in reproductive wellbeing and connection. The ownership of an MPH degree and preceding know-how in communicating reproductive wellbeing outcomes and publications in reproductive wellbeing will be an added benefit.

Remuneration will be based on the scope of work proposed, the number of days of work and the know-how of the Consultant.
