Job Title: Research Support Expert

Location of Job: Head Office - Abuja Reports to: Lead Research Specialist

Main Function
The lead research support expert will support the collection, collation and review of all extant laws, relevant literature, related international best practices and case studies relating to the project.
Role and Responsibilities

Job Functions:

  • The Research Support Expert will assist the Project Coordinator and Lead Research Specialist in carrying out the research project. The details of that function are as follows:
  • Data Collection: The Research Support Expert will be responsible for tool development and the design, collection and analysis of evaluative project data.
  • Record Keeping: Keeps record of information obtained during research. May include a database of information, hard files, etc.
  • Literature Research: Conducts research of the literature.
  • Technical Research: Independently conducts technical research, participating in the definition of research directions and any other research activities as required.
  • Data Analysis: Conducts analyses of data. Interprets, draws conclusions, and discusses with Lead Research Specialist.
  • Report Preparation: Prepares various reports containing descriptive, analytical, and evaluative content that may be submitted for publication.
  • Test Construction: Constructs tests or assists in the construction of tests.
  • Collaboration: Collaborates with other researchers.
  • As Needed, Performs various duties as needed to successfully fulfil the function of the position.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Advanced University degree (Masters or equivalent) in Law or any of the Social Sciences
  • Minimum six years professional experience in relevant fields, including consultation experience as relates to present assignment
  • Proven track record in research analysis and analytical report writing [evidence of writing project reports is an added advantage
  • Vast knowledge of petroleum related agencies
  • Excellent communication skills, high proficiency in verbal and written English
  • Advanced and excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interact with individuals from different social cadres
  • Advanced IT Skills, high proficiency in the use of Microsoft office packages
