Job Title: Specialist, Legal Services (Contracts & Advisory)

Location: Lagos, NG

Job Summary
To assist in drafting, negotiating and interpreting formal contracts on behalf of Etisalat; and ensure that all contracts entered into by Etisalat are consistent with requisite local and international laws, rules and regulations.

Principal Functions


  • Draft and negotiate legal contracts including technical contracts, commercial contracts, finance contracts, consultancy contracts, engagement letters, letters of intent and other related documents.
  • Develop and update template contracts to suit the various contractual requirements of Etisalat.
  • Provide legal advisory services and liaise with external counsel/consultants on various Etisalat special projects.
  • Research and proffer opinions to departments/divisions on legal enquiries or issues of a contractual nature arising out of the interpretation and application of contracts.
  • Assist in ensuring that terms and conditions set out in contractual documentation are legally valid, consistent with Etisalat's policies, rules and regulations, and are in the organisation's best interest.
  • Participate in and provide legal assistance to tender committees at Etisalat.
  • Assist in litigation by or against contractors or other counterparties arising out of contracts or similar documentation.
  • Develop and maintain a database of all contractual documents and related legal documentation.
  • Liaise with relevant units/teams/functions in carrying out all relevant activities.
  • Attend team/divisional/departmental meetings as required.
  • Prepare/compile agreed periodic activity and performance reports.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the Manager or Head, Commercial and Corporate Services.

Educational Requirements
First degree in law
