Duty Manager at InterContinental Hotel

Job Description:
As a Duty Manager, you will be in charge of pertinent matters affecting guest service and hotel operations to ensure guests receive prompt attention and personal recognition throughout the hotel. In addition, you'll respond to guest needs and resolves any issues that may arise; supervise, direct and support Reception, Concierge, Guest Relations and Reservations teams during peak periods, assist Guest Relations in greeting, rooming, and sending off VIP guests, conduct daily departmental briefings and provides input for regular Front Office meetings.

You'll also checkbilling instructions and monitors guest credit. Analyses and approves discounts and rebates, analyse the rate variance report to ensure rooms revenue control, take action with the Property Management Systems (PMS) in emergency situation and be fully conversant with all hotel emergency procedures.

You will actively guide and direct the whole team to ensure consistency of brand standards and a high level of performance and service delivery to all our guests.

Qualifications

  • Degree from a reputable institution in Social Sciences/ Arts or its equivalent
  • Previous Supervisory/Management Experience
  • Previous experience with dealing and resolving guest queries. Market knowledge and trends are key to this position.
  • Excellent presentation, communication and organizational skills and the ability to multi task while working under pressure
  • Able to turn vision into action
  • Highly visible and 'hands on' in operation
  • High level of English language skills both written and verbal.
  • Previous IHG experience preferred but not mandatory
