Aspen Energy Nigeria - Our Client, a leading Nigerian independent integrated energy company, currently playing in the downstream sector of the Petroleum industry now wishes to set up an E&P Company with the aim of acquiring, developing and producing oil & gas assets safely and efficiently for the benefits of all stakeholders. Purpose:
The purpose of the role is to lead our business growth within the upstream sector of oil and gas industry in Nigeria whilst supporting commercial opportunities maturation. Overall responsibility for continuous revenue growth across new and additional future business opportunities whilst supporting where required operational implementation.
The Candidate for this position is to team up with other Senior business leaders to ensure alignment of the responsibilities as indicated below to achieve the strategic corporate vision of the organization with year on year delivery of business targets.

 Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
Engage multiple levels of the Organisation throughout their decision making process and support the execution of business strategy while proactively leading business development opportunities.
Development and support project managers in planning resourcing, budgeting and act as communications & reporting hub between Business Development, Bid Team and operational to ensure alignment between these inter-related functions in new business pursuits.
Build effective relationships with internal business managers and all the external stakeholders in relation to strategic proposals, projects management, legal, financing, tax, or other issues to ensure the organisation achieve growth targets in the upstream businesses.
Maintain and enhance current Nigerian based International Oil Company’s relationships through regular contact and meetings and thoroughly researched and substantiated commercial information for management consideration leveraging on key accounts, key contacts and other critical people within the industry.
Provide inputs to management based on market information to enable the organization to develop capability in areas to give us strategic leverage for future projects.
Gather and analyze market intelligence for new projects and opportunities and keep up to date on industry trends, competitors and client developments.
Periodically make presentations to Clients and participate in Industrial Exhibitions to create awareness on company activities with a view to enhance and develop new Clientele
Foster an environment where innovation, entrepreneurship and courage are valued and encouraged while sustaining strong leadership that ensures cohesion and common purpose in a changing environment.
Lead member of the Upstream New Business Development team responsible for identifying, organizing screening and assessment of new business opportunities to ensure an appropriately filled opportunity funnel is aligned with the business strategy.
Manage resources (budget, people etc) and support relevant business units leveraging on the Company’s resource pools to ensure high quality and speedy project delivery..

Competencies Required:
Business development experience in opportunity identification and/or deal delivery with Exploration and Production technical background is essential, preferably with Geosciences /subsurface experience.
Deep knowledge of Oil & Gas upstream business including Exploration Development and Production activities for competitors, process technologies and products/services.
Structured worker, able to quickly assess the potential value and key sensitivities of a new opportunity and effectively communicate these to team members.
Ability to work effectively within multi discipline and cross functional teams and to lead projects with no direct line accountability;
Ability to analyze and present complex data, structures and processes in a concise manner
Experience in dealing with Government Agencies and NOCs will be an advantage.
A deal-maker with Business Development Experience in Opportunity identification and Deal delivery.

Education:    
Bachelor Degree in Sciences/ Engineering. A Post Graduate Degree would be an added advantage.    

Experience:    
Minimum of 12 years E&P experience with Geosciences / Subsurface background working on multiple projects and operations at a senior level, and at least 5 of them in Business Development.
