Job Title: IP Engineer - Service Provider

Location: Lagos

Core Job Functions / Responsibility:
The role is responsible managing provisioning and acceptance process of Point to Point (PTP)microwave circuit on the network. The role is also responsible for managing the lifecycle of Point to Point microwave radios on the networks.

Primary Activities

• Provide Level 2 support for SAF technical, CERAGON and other PTP microwave links within the network.
• Become the escalation point into microwave technical partners
• Router Configuration and IP support for to PTP microwave circuit.
• Manage the acceptance process for point to point microwave link within the network
• Ensure that all PTP links are installed as per directions from the installation manual and all other technical documents
• Ensure that all accepted PTP circuits are configured for monitoring and proper network management.
• Continuous improvement of PTP acceptance technical documents for the network in Nigeria.
• Managing the AS-built documentation of PTP radio installed on the network.
• Interface with the Transmission team for inter-related assignments.
• Manage and ensure all microwave circuit are designed according to the product catalogue and all other technical policies
• Perform regular audit of the network to determine the state of all installed PTP circuit.
• Give regular feedback to radio planning team and support Netops team as required
• Keep up to date configuration database of all microwave links
• Drive demand and capacity management for all microwave links

Job Requirements and Skills

• Graduate Qualifications: A First degree BEng, BSc, BTech, Science or Technology Only from a recognised University REQUIRED.
• Post Graduate Qualifications: Master’s degree or Post Graduate Qualification would be of ADVANTAGE.
• Experience: Minimum of 3-4 years of work experience preferably, NYSC is ESSENTIAL.
• Certifications and Training Requirements: Must have CCNP. Exposure to MPLS(Design, Implement, Support, Monitoring)is of ADVANTAGE.

• He must have intermediate level IP skills with a minimum of CCNP level certification and he should be familiar with configuration on cisco routers.
• Good technical reporting skills E.g. usage of Microsoft Visio, Excel and word etc.
• Good understanding of MPLS, routing protocols i.e. OSPF, BGP and EIGRP
• Sound operational experience with a minimum of 3 years working as a field operations engineer or network operation centre engineer.
• Ability to interpret technical documents prepared using Pathloss and ATDI
• Experience in the installation of PTP microwave radio e.g. (SAF, Ceragon, Dragonwave and Aviat)
• Desktop research skills, a good understanding of the concept of trade-of during design and an ability to work with little or no supervision.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to translate customer requirement into technical installation documents.
• Ability to work in fast-paced, global environment.
• Big picture thinking coupled with a strong focus on details, processes and documentation.
