Job Description
The Business Partner client facing role (BPR), is responsible for driving the sale of IBM software products through our Business Partners in an assigned territory or coverage model, and will lead the execution of Software Group (SWG) Channels programs and events.
This will include strategic planning, tactical execution and account management to deliver high-value to our Business Partners and highly-effective utilization of both SWG and IBM Software Brand resources in support of revenue goals and other key business priorities.
Successful candidates will be responsible for several aspects of selling IBM products through the channel, including business planning with their Business Partners, territory / pipeline management, planning and running tactics and local, execution of Security Brand initiatives and SWG channel programs.
Successful candidates will:
Demonstrate understanding of the Business Partner channel (resellers, distributors and other BP-types) and SWG's BP Channel programs (including SVP, SVI, BPLM, etc.)
Identify effective ways to leverage SWG programs to improve channel sales & productivity, and IBM's value to our Business Partners.
Demonstrate knowledge of the channel sales model, both internal and external to IBM.
Be capable of presenting and articulating the differentiated value of IBM's Channel incentives, resources, strategy and the Security product portfolio to IBM's channel sellers and Business Partners.
Have experience successfully selling with, or leading Business Partners in complex, competitive sales situations.
Be able to team effectively with individuals from WW SWG, other IBM SWG Brands, IBM’s distributors and our teams in the geography.
Be flexible and creative, willing to adapt to the evolving needs of a new and strategic division.
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree.
At least 2 years experience in Experience in selling through the software channel, with strong history of success.
At least 5 years experience in professional sales and/or account management.
At least 4 years experience in Advanced Knowledge of various Business Partner models and practices.
At least 1 year experience in Advanced knowledge of IBM's SWG Channels programs, tools and resources.
English: Fluent.
Preferred
At least 4 years experience in Experience in selling through the software channel, with strong history of success.
At least 7 years experience in professional sales and/or account management.
At least 5 years experience in Advanced Knowledge of various Business Partner models and practices.
At least 2 years experience in Advanced knowledge of IBM's SWG Channels programs, tools and resources.
