Job Title: Director, Works and Physical Planning
Location: Kwara State
Duties and Responsibilities:
The Director of Works and Physical Planning is the Chief Technical Officer of the University and responsible to the Vice Chancellor for the day to day running and maintenance of University buildings, Roads, Water bore holes, electrical Installations, equipment and other properties, including provision of service and utilities for the well-being of the University
Qualifications
Candidates for the post of Director Works and Physical Planning must possess a good honours degree in Civil Engineering Building Architecture, Quantity Surveying Estate Management, Urban and Regional Planning or other related disciplines plus at least 16 (sixteen) years of cognate experience preferably in a University or in a top management position in any appropriate large organization.
Possession of a Master's Degree in related discipline will be an added advantage.
In addition, candidates must be fully registered member of relevant professional and statutory bodies such as Council for the Society of Engineers (NSE) and the COREN (for Engineers) ARCON and NIA (for Architects), OSRBN (for Quantity Surveyors), NIOB (for Builders) etc. Other elevations in the profession will be an advantage.
Prospective candidates must demonstrate competence through experience, strategy etc. to maintain a high level of discipline, prompt and adequate response system, prudence and strong accountability in the Works Department.
Prospective candidate will be expected to propose and discuss a plan for a pro-active maintenance culture for the University during the interview.
Prospective candidates must be proficient in ICT with demonstrable competence in computer aided designs and controls.
